REGAL SECURITY TRAINING ACADEMY

Our security guards are provided with the training and ongoing support required to progress their careers in security. This consists of both mandatory, in-class and on-the-job training, coupled with progressively more detailed and specialized training to meet the various demands of all our clients.

Regal Security Inc. is a registered training facility and conducts all mandatory security guard training in compliance with PSISA regulations. Further specialized training is conducted either at Regal’s facility or through one of our several, authorized security training partners.

USE OF FORCE

USE OF FORCE

This provides the guard with the practical (physical) and legal authorities to apply the use of force continuum properly and with confidence. The practical component brings the security guards through, proper application of restraints, passive and active resistance processes and provides them a working knowledge and muscle memory retention to adequately apply force in an effective manner.

The legal authorities provides for the student the conceptional elements of section 494 and its application, legal limits and penalties for an over application of force during application.

FIRE SAFETY

FIRE SAFETY

All employers have a duty to ensure the safety of their staff and any visitors to their workplace. This includes having an emergency plan and training staff so that they understand their role in an emergency.

Any good Emergency Plan will depend on staff knowing what to do in the event of a fire, and will almost certainly mean that some staff have particular roles and responsibilities as Fire Wardens. This may include specific duties in an evacuation, but it could also mean specific responsibilities for ongoing safety or fire prevention. Proper fire warden training for these individuals to ensure they have the knowledge they need to carry out their duties.

Verbal Judo is a highly effective communication system originally developed for police officers to peacefully de-escalate situations and resolve conflicts through empathy and subtle communications tactics. It has been adapted for security guards, where communication skills are key to resolving situations quickly and to establishing strong relationships with clients and residents.

The CPR and Standard First Aid Course provides hands-on experience and practical skills that would enable participants to deal with injuries and medical emergencies at home, work and other environments.

SUPERVISOR TRAINING

This tranche of training provides for the senior security professional to spring board into a supervisory role, it touches upon management functions, problem solving, delegating and providing leadership to the security individual or team, it also provides for the continued learning of the supervisor professional in a progressive and thought provoking manner, the fundamentals of mentoring and career advancement are at the pinnacle of this training module.

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE

This module as the name implies provides for an experiential element, the security professional is placed into environments where they are the customer and visa versa, the security professional is then tasked with making the experience of dealing with security professionals an exceptional experience, even when the customer may be challenging to deal with, the experience of the customer is essential and the interactions either good or bad are reviewed, and lessons are derived that help the security professional to relate the best possible experience to our internal, external and peripheral clientele.

TACTICAL TRAINING

EVERYDAY SUPERHEROES™

Regal Security Inc.’s fundamental training prepares our security guards to become Everyday Superheroes™— guards armed with a unique set of skills to address a diverse range of interactions, from courteously answering questions to discreetly preventing a potential altercation.

Regal Security in addition to the 40 hour Ministry lead testing also provides to its security personnel an additional tranche of training comprising our orientation program, this encapsulates reviews 24 hours of reviews in the following subjects.

  • 16 HOURS ON JOB TRAINING

That is the first tranche of Orientation training. The second tranche comprises 16 hours of practical “field work” at sites where they can be observed by a supervisor.

This provides  a two phased approach of review with for the guard and for the company, The guard can make the determination anywhere through the process that this may not be his or her work aspiration and the company based on its review of the canadidate can make the determination whether they want to continue through the employment process.
